Federica's X sbaglio company is an organic reality born in 2018 among the hills of Monferrato, among gentle curves and a spectacular panorama of vineyards, hazelnut groves, orchards surrounded by woods. Most of the raw materials used are produced in-house, as naturally as possible; the words that can represent our products are 'the flavours of yesteryear'.
The Barbera, Moscato, Chardonnay and Cortese vineyards, are all located in the municipality of Nizza Monferrato, they are not recent vineyards, therefore, an excellent quality of grape prevails over quantity, with an eye to its natural life cycle.
The hazelnut groves are followed and worked right from the first year, so that they can grow, healthy and vigorous, with particular attention to treatments: almost nil or using all products and natural antagonists of diseases, predatory insects are also used.
The orchard, scattered around the farmstead is made up of old varieties, which give fruit with an intense perfume and flavour; in spring, the different blossoms give colour and a fantastic buzz, because, for pollination, we ask for help from the bees or bumblebees present on the farm. The fight against diseases is completely natural, using antagonistic insects such as ladybirds.
I decided to practise nomadic beekeeping, in predominantly wooded and flower-rich areas, in order to have healthy and strong families; the honey and pollen produced will not all be sold, but a part kept on the farm as their food, during cold periods or when there is a shortage of flowers.
In the laboratory we produce: fruit preserves with only fruit sugars and apple pectin as a natural thickener and lemon juice as an acidifier; cheese preserves, made from fruit or vegetables with a very low sugar content, some of which are very interesting because they enhance the territory, such as Cardo Gobbo and those made from Barbera and Moscato grapes.
Tomato conserve, free of any preservatives, whose consistency allows it to be eaten with a spoon and its flavour will remind you of 'grandma's'.
Nougat, produced according to an ancient recipe, is baked in a bain-marie, taking many hours; we produce it: traditional, with Barbera d'Asti and Moscato d'Asti.
Hazelnut products have also been added: Hazelnuts with honey, Miecciola (hazelnut and honey paste) and Cremduja, a gianduja cream composed of 50% hazelnuts. The latter two are two perfect spreadable creams. Latest arrivals are the extra virgin olive oil, produced from the company's own olives in the area, and saffron.
